Most sales teams default to the same easy offer every time, leaving your highest-margin products unsold. Here's the Full Menu Selling framework that fixes it without a new script.
You set a goal. Chances are you have set the very same one more than once. The gap between the owners who actually hit a goal and the ones who quietly let it slide by March usually has nothing to do with how good the goal was. It has to do with who else knew about it, and whether anyone was actually checking.
Here is the enemy: a goal that lives entirely inside your own head, with no one checking in on it and no real consequence for letting it slip. One of the better-controlled studies on this, run by Dr Gail Matthews at Dominican University of California, tracked 267 people across a wide range of businesses and professions. Those who kept their goals private and unwritten reported successful achievement, meaning they had fully hit the goal or were more than halfway there, only 35 percent of the time. Those who sent a weekly progress update to a friend reported successful achievement more than 70 percent of the time.
The mechanism is not magic. Writing a goal down makes it concrete. Telling someone makes it social, which raises the cost of quietly abandoning it. Sending a weekly update turns that single moment of accountability into a habit, with a date attached every week where you have to say, out loud, whether you actually did the thing.
"Keeping me sane and focused during uncertain times."
— Rachel Williams, Icehouse Coaching Programme
You probably already know you should be accountable to someone. Very few owners make it a friend, because friends are reluctant to push back hard when the honest answer is "you did not do it." A coach is built for exactly that uncomfortable conversation, it is the job, not an imposition on the friendship. That is the real mechanism behind the coaching clients who finally hit a goal they had been circling for years: not new information, a weekly date they could not quietly skip.
If you have circled the same goal for more than a year, the missing piece probably is not your plan. Become the owner who finally hits it, with a weekly date you cannot quietly skip.
